Three point lighting

• key lighting - usually the most important light, the purpose is to highlight the form and dimension of the subject.
• fill lighting - used to reduce the contrast of a scene to match the dynamic range of recording media. 
• hair lighting - purpose to fill in the shadows that the key light has created.
