Massive Attack
The Band:
Massive attack are a British trip hop group formed in 1988 in Bristol. The group consisted of Robert 3D, Del Naja, Grant 'daddy' Marshall and formerly Andy 'Mushroom' Vowles(Mush). The group has won numerous awards throughout their career, including a Brit award. They have released five studio albums that have sold over 11 million copies worldwide. Massive attack started off as a spin off production trio in 1988, with the independently released song 'Any Love.'
Blue lines:
Blue lines is a debut studio album by English trip hop group Massive attack. It was released on their wild bunch label through virgin records on 8th April 1991, a remastered version was released on 19th November 2012. Blue lines featured breakbeats, sampling and rapping on a number of tracks, but the design of the album differed from traditional hip hop. Massive attack approached the American-born hip hop movement from an underground British perspective and also incorporated live instruments into the mixes.
Unfinished Sympathy:
The song was written by the three band members, Mushroom, 3D and Daddy G, the groups vocalist Shara Nelson. The song was released as a second single from the bands debut album 'blue lines.' Upon release unfinished sympathy topped the dutch top 40 and became a top 20 hit on the singles chart of countries including Switzerland and United Kingdom.
Baillie Walsh:
Baillie Walsh is a British music video and film director. He is best known for writing and directing the film 'flashbacks of fool' in 2008 starring Daniel Craig. He has also directed music videos for massive attack, Boy George, Kylie Minogue, oasis and many more.
