The impact of technological change on newspapers

The stories that the daily mail produce are usually exaggerated and this helps produce more income and money for the daily mail. This helps protect the revenue and profits for the communities. Most of the stories produced are about celebrities to make them more modern and appeal to a wider audience.
To help with make more money near the top of the page, just below the first main story there is a box that has their social media tags on and says 'follow us' so if someone shares the daily mail then their family/friends may read it and this could help contribute to produce more of the income.
The daily mail prompt readers to read their online newspapers as through social media they promote it in a way that is eye catching. On social media networks such as snapchat they have stories and one of them is the daily mail and this would help promote their stories as they would want to read more stories with the daily mail. I think that because they're advertising the daily mail on social media then they would get more of a younger audience reading their newspapers. Also because the daily mail is more of a younger audience
With Shirky end of audience theory, the 'new' media is the online newspapers and the 'old' media is the paper newspapers. With the 'new' media audiences can make it their own and filter what they want to read and then they can suit it to their own personality. To help 'make it their own' with adding comments at the end of an article to give 'feedback' in a way.


The Guardian

The stories that are published on the guardians website are also exaggerated to help make more of a profit and make money for the newspaper company, but because it is a newspaper which educated and higher class people read they exaggerate their political ideologies in a formal way and this helps protect their revenue.
To help make more money for the newspaper they have subscriptions on their page and also adverts, so when you're reading a article at the bottom you will see that you can subscribe and pay a certain amount of money towards the newspaper. 
The way that the newspapers prompt readers the read their online newspapers is by promoting it on social media platforms such as facebook and snapchat. They use social media platforms to help appeal the newspaper to a wider audience, so for example on Facebook or snap chat you will see a news story from them and say if the person reading it enjoys the news story then it would prompt them into going on their website and reading their news stories from their website. The Shirky end of audience theory the 'new' media is the online newspaper and with the new media people can filter what they want to say and can leave comments on the news article saying how you feel about it.
